Powerful Storytelling for Fundraising

Speaker: Lori L. Jacobwith + Kurt Johnson, CAI, BAS and Carol Miller, CAI, BAS

We all know storytelling is important in nonprofit fundraising – and not just writing stories for appeals, grants and newsletters. Join a master storyteller in this session to learn how to powerfully use storytelling before and during your events. You will identify steps for crafting inspiring spoken stories for your executive director, testimonial speakers, fundraising staff, volunteers, and you - the auctioneer.

Upon completing this session, you will be able to:

  • Explain why our brains are wired for storytelling
  • Identify six steps to craft a powerful and memorable story
  • Use mission moment stories to cause people to give more money
  • Describe best practices for sharing stories before and during your fundraising events
